Recently we had a reporter from global TV here. He spent 11 hours shooting vidieo which included a trip down the local strip in the 63. We had to get special permission and were told to go gentle. Still even with a gentle start the tires were just about useless and it spun easily despite the fact it hooks well on the street. Also the gearing was not quite right for long trips so today I went and had a set of 285/70/R15 BFGs installed.
Big tires to say the least and they fit without mods. Car feels totally different and will be much better for cruisin. I plan to go to New Hamburg this year if all works out so I didn't want to spend several hours drivin at 3000 RPM. That could get a little tiring. This seems to be a reasonable solution. Have now put on 11000+ miles. Car get more streetable everyday. The new tires look big . I don't think it could handle any more. I wanted to buy BFG drag radials but that suggestion was met with a cold icy stare so I elected not to go that way. Someday though I will take a decent set of slicks and give it a serious try. I have the bug again now.
