On a non poly small block, aka: 318,340,360.
The studs on the ends are the only bolts that go into the water jacket.

Hi,
My car mechanic has just assembled my polyhead. One of the exhaust
manifold bolts leaked water (the one on the passenger's side and nearest
the passenger compartment) when he experimented with the engine. Is that
the sole bolt which needs insulant or do any of the other bolts reach
water?
