distance between flexplate and convertor

Hello everybody,

I'm in the process of installing motor/tranny in the 64 and I have about 1/4 inch gap between the flexplate and convertor.  The engine is flush with the tranny case and the bolts are torqued down. When I tighten the convertor bolts will it pull the convertor out so much that it will not turn the pump?  The convertor is a Dynamic 3500 stall  if that makes a difference.  Thanks in advance.
