Doug I have the same problem with both my 64's and have tried everything and
can not seem to stop it. wondering if it is not in the trans hook up. maybe
someone will solve both our problems  Dave O

Last year the speedometer on my Ô64 Sport Fury died.  I replaced the
speedometer cable (which did not help) and then had the speedometer unit
rebuilt.

When I put it all back together the speedometer needle "bounced" until 40
mph and then held steady.  Last weekend the speedometer started clicking and
bouncing erratically (at all speeds).  I immediately unhooked the cable.

What's the poroblem?  The speedometer cable is turning strong.  Is my
rebuilt speedo unit defective?  What makes it click?  What causes the needle
to bounce?  Help!
