Hi

I have also used a tumbler. But I used it with aluminia oxide grain, could
also work with sand, but it will as Ted wrote take quite long time.
Normallly the bolts and nuts have been "tumbling" around a whole day.

a rock tumbler with walnut shells works great my brother in law uses it to
clean shells takes a long time tho. i use a brush on a bench grinder
