Hi Andy, I had the battery in the trunk in my 63 Savoy for weight transfer
for about 9 years with no problems. My suggestions are use a better battery
than you would in the front and a good starter. NHRA requires a marked
on/off switch mounted on the outside of the car and for good reason. In case
of emergency no one can just open the hood and pull a battery cable off.
Other than that, they do look better out of sight. Good luck,

Does anyone have their battery mounted in the trunk of their car, for
whatever purpose (weight distribution for racing, to clean up the engine
compartment, etc)?

If so, are there any problems or difficulties with having it mounted there?

I'm considering mounting mine there, if for no other reason than to clean up
the engine compartment. I've heard though that I need to beware of venting
issues, anyone have any knowledge of this?

Summit has a trunk mount battery kit for about 40 bucks that I'm looking at
getting.

Thanks,
Andy
