Currently this car has a 4-speed, but my previous car had an automatic with reverse pattern manual valve body & a 4000 stall speed convertor. Even with that car, I remember the kick-down linkage was still connected, only adjusted with enough pressure on the valve to still allow the throttle to open fully. I am sure there are other experts on the site that will have a more up to date solution. I'll be watching for a reply as I am still undecided on the choice of transmission to put behind the 65 Race Hemi I just picked up.
