I thought that might be the best of both worlds. The 3800 from Frank Lupos drives like a normal converter without the big elastic band type of feeling. Mine will idle along at 900 to 1200 Rpm and move the car just fine BUT when I brake torque . which I rarely need to do it gives good stall speed and the car leaves like a truck hit it from behind. It might be luck but I think this particular car converter combo is a perfect match. I am having a ball with it. I love leaving in 1st and listening to the tires screech when I shove 2nd gear button. Car is very streetable. I think I may leave it alone now. BTW. Max wedge single 4 cowl onduction air cleaner assembly. I have photos (coutesty of von Hench ) and also Hot Rod annual 1963. Has anyone ever seen one of these for sale or should I just fabircate one from a stock air cleaner?
