Neal,

A trans brake hydraulically locks the transmission. It is used by most
guys
who are running in a drag racing class that allows electronics. With a 
delay box and a trans brake, you can release the button when you
see the top bulb and the car will launch based on how much is in the
delay box. It makes for better consistency with your reaction times.
Which
you must have if your going to play the strip game and win bracket
races in Super Pro or index class with throttle stops.

   Would anybody care to briefly explain to me what a trans brake is and
   does?
      Also i know little about high stall converters, what do they do
and
      how do they work?
