Webers are the untimate but i cannot afford them.
SUs or Solexs work very well in Six cylinder aplications. Especialy when groups 1 carb per two clys .
Tlitsons appeal to me so i want to try them.
As for 3 dueces for a v8 manifold The Rochestor 2 bbls so popular on Chevies and used on 318s also in 1971 are very very good carbs. Way better than most realize. The version on 1970 and later 350 2bbl s is huge and the 455 Olds with a 2bbl is a monsterous thing. Some approach 600 or nearly so. They are responsive, cheap , have huge air flow and work very well. I have even adapted one to a slant six for a customer. Once the choke area bar is removed and smoothed they are a very very good carb. The Man-a-free "injection" (as it was inappropriately named ) used these carbs.
