My cousin was slow at his repair station so I was able to "borrow" a lift for a little while. Case of beer rent. My muffler has a hole on it right next to the exhaust connection. The tail side is beginning to come through as well. It's the original exhaust. The muffler has a 9-63 date stamp. The system is welded with a single clamp at the crossover pipe - exhaust pipe connection. Any suggestions for a correct MOPAR muffler before I settle for a parts store universal one size fits all? It's a poly engine, 34K original, single exhaust system. I'm thinking of trying a patch for now as I have 30 days here in MA on the "R" inspection to correct it. Shocks are leaking, seals are gone. They still work but time has dried them out. Are gas shocks what many of you have come to use? It's strictly a driver. The center section was clean inside when I opened the fill plug but the level was down. I could get a bent wire wet at about 1" down. It should be just below when on a frame lift. Should I just top it off or suck it and re-fill? It's a 741 case, open gear (one wheel one way, the other opposite), no ratio ID tag. It was dirty but after spraying and wiping it down, it doesn't appear to have any leaks. Just SAE90 or is there something better? I need front strut rod bushings. They're cracked and pieces are missing. Any sources? I was going to do the torsion bar bushings front and rear at the same time. I think these are on Ebay. How do you set the torsion bars for height and load before the lock nut is torqued? I also need some help with grease. What do you guys use? My cousin say's he used to use long fiber. What the heck is that? I couldn't get the rear drums off to save my life. I spooned them in as far as I could and even whacked the drums out with a mallet but no go. I didn't want to break anything so I adjusted them back out until they rubbed the drums and put the wheels back on. Nice high pedal, stops fine (for manual with a single master!) for now. Am I doing something wrong? There's a bunch of other stuff I think I can lick but these have me confused beyond normal state. I'm so happy to finally be driving something I don't want to do anything else! Tom Duross back out for another long drive this afternoon....... (all smiles)....
