I had a post car in the 70s (63 Dodge) when I retired from the race car stuff my wife thought i needed something for fun. (What a fine woman she turned out to be!) She asked what and i said I wanted without a question a 63 Dodge 2 dr hrtp. About 2 weeks later i found one. A 63 Plymouth would also have been just as nice to me. I wanted a little upscale version for street cruisin. i found the 426 heads first then the block although I drove for a year with a fairly warm 440 in it. Now i have the 426 Max wedge basically blueprinted and balanced with the Daytona revision2 intake (single 4 bbl), Hooker headers and a Dynamic Frank Lupo converter . Engine runs a hot hydraulic with 525 lift and 310 dur (adv) With 3:91 gears and almost 29 inch tall tires i really enjoy it. It runs good enough to drive for fun and is wild enough sounding and fast enough that no one has challenged me so far. (Ok So we had a couple of side by side bursts of accel on the main street but that quickly put an end to that) I enjoy it. Have drove it on a couple of longer trips (170 miles each way) and got 14.9 MPG (Imp Gallon) Go for it. Your car is a beautiful example of this era.You will enjoy it. Sure there will always be someone who says , "Thats not original" or" they didn't make them that way" and then will get in thier rusted out Vw PASSST and drive away. The law say we can't shoot them (although the thought often crosses our mind) but other than these types raining on your day you will have a lot of fun and i hope like me will really enjoy you car. I am so bad now i see another car for sale but i say to myself, I am happy with the one I have and it seems just fine to me. I wish you the same . Go for it!
