Howdy,

<Rant on>

I, for one, would be willing to pay for use of this great
email list if doing so would relieve us of the constant
shill.

<Rant Off>

I don't know if I should say this because I have only posted a few times.
But I have been a member for close to a year & the reason that I haven't
posted is that I find Topica a PITA to use. So I am going to bring up an
idea up that may make for a good discussion.

I know of a good basic message board that we could purchase for ~$500 which
includes setup, all patches and one year of server hosting. Each subsequent
year the price is about half of that. The entire board would be under the
control of Gary with no ads what so ever.

Individual "forums" could be setup for A, B & C bodies if desired. Or by
Model year. Or however. The classifieds could also be moved to the new msg
board.

It would only take 50 members $10 each to move over to a true "site owned"
msg board and the benefits thereof.

My opinion regarding mail list servers such as Topica and Yahoo is that they
are all right for small groups or very light usage. However as memberships
grow and usage increases there are better options out there.

Just my .02

Scott
