My dad let me get a car to work on the summer I was 15. It was a Maverick,
I think a 72 or so. I bugged him for months and months then we went looking
for a car in the neighborhood and found the Maverick for $200. He would
explain something to me, then let me loose for a few hours. I would take
oit apart have him look at it, then put it back together. I loved doind
this as a kid. I still enjoy it as an adult. We even tried body work on the
car. He found an old safe in the garbage and we used the metal to repair a
rotten lower panel.
Now I have a 65 New Yorker w/413.
I really miss him
Eric
