It smoked a little at first (the resistor) is it supposed to do that? I'm assuming it was burning off some sort of coating on the coils of the resistor. After about 15-20 seconds it stopped. It's just a two wire resistor and seems idiot proof as far as hooking it up. The problem however is still there. The coil still seems to be getting pretty hot, almost too hot to keep your hand on. BTW, the coil has been relocated to the fender well previously. I guess that's the next thing to try and replace. Trial and error, if that doesn't work I'll replace the ECU next.
