I suppose with the right combination it will work effectively, but MIG is the thing. If you are filling holes, learn about copper spoons. Second, what I do is sign up with the local "Voke" school for "adult ed". It is $110.00 for 11 weeks. They have the best equipment (I have my own mig, but they have Petco machines for bending, sand blasting cabinets that will take a wheel, etc) and you don't even have to clean up after yourself. They let me bring my car in and I bring my own 110 volt rig because they are not geared for sheet metal that thin. Despite what I said about the "best equipment" I have been known to bring my own air compressor because their huge compressor never seems to be working.
