Hi Neal!
                 The '65's were the last year for "cable operated"
transmissions ,the '65 cars used a column shift adapter that simply gave the
public the impression that the trans was now a conventional "linkage"
operated trans. '64 was the last year of pushbuttons.
Pushbuttons got a bad reputation courtesy of FoMoCo with the Edsel and
Mercury "Teletouch" transmission selectors which were an Electro-Mechanical
nightmare,take my word for it.

I thought 64 was the last year for the pushbuttons. I know it was in the
Barracuda.
