Lets see if I can help here. My Poly before I tore it down had 145 psi, and
it is about 8.2 to 1, the drag car my buddy owns is a 13.5 to 1 motor, but
the compression gauge only shows about 160 psi when cranking it over. Now I
now that doesn't make sense, but you have to think about cam timing, over
lap etc. That is why it is so hard to figure true C.R. from a gauge.

so whats that mean? what kind of info do i need that a compression testing
gauge gives me besides pounds per square inch? i got a old fashioned gauge

a fella loaned me with a little chart on it that says 160 lbs equal 9 to 1.

bought a new gauge from sears yesterday and checked all my cylinders 6 read
150 but two read 148 or so. are you saying psi is not translatable to cr?
why is
every compression tester ive ever seen mark in psi then? methinks perhaps
its
