My brother-in-law had an 833 in a mid-70s Road Runner that he had for just a 
little while. His had a tall first gear and a big drop between 1st and 2nd or 
2nd and 3rd, I can't remember which. Not good the 1/4 mile which he was 
interested in. Perhaps it was a truck trans as Dave Casey referred to. You might 
check the gear ratios of your trans' 4 speeds to see if they will work well with 
your application.
