It can be used in a not new trans... full trans service and drain the torque converter.. advantages .. Fluid doesn't break down under sustained load. better lubrication of the planetary and sprag. I roasted the trans in my Lil Red in 1979 under warranty ( 44000 miles ) I ran it for 500 miles to the first adjustment then changed to Syn. the truck has 430000 now and the trans is great ,,, I do a 60,000 mile service.
