I haven't spoken about that yet with him. I'm going back on Tuesday. I wanted to "bone up" a little before I did. I just didn't want him trying to get me to do something I didn't want to or let him not do something I should. Does that make sense? He was getting ready to do a SB 'stang motor with twin turbo's when I was there. "gotta pay the rent" was his response. He had an AAR cuda of his own in one of the garage bays, it looked really nice. He did ask if I wanted to break it in with synthetic oil instead but had to get to the motor as he was on the clock and the motor owner was there. But - had a 2-4v. 340 w/ adjustable rockers early w-2 heads..set to cam specs for normal break in,, before they would put it on the dyno - had to loosen them up 5thousands for the first pull then reset closer for remaining pulls. 2.5 hrs later had it back to mfg. specs and a solid 450 hp. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nick Tiberio" <furyus63@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "62to65Mopars" <1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, March 21, 2004 7:47 AM Subject: Break In > > Tom, > I know we talked about this before. If your engine builder, and mopar nut with the amazing shop can't give you a plan with full knowledge of thier equipment, I don't know if I would want them to break in my engine. I know you've spent good money on your 361. Most good engine books will give you the standard. May I suggest calling Lunati for their recommended break-in for a dyno. I found out the hard way and ruined a Racer Brown cam by having the valve setting to close on a power pull. > Nick > > -- > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > > ---- > Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
