My Dad gave me his 64 Dodge Polara 500 383 4speed console car. He was
buying a new 1968 Chrysler 4 door 300 with a 440 console. I was a goofy
16 year old kid didn't realize what I had or how good I had it. That car
had constant problems, the rear tires and clutch keep wearing out. I did
abuse it. Now I have another 64 Polara 500 that I baby.

It was back in 1977, I was 18, worked at a fiberglass boat repair yard,
saved my pennies, 2.60 an hour back then, bought a 64 dodge polara 500,
383 2 barrel bucket seat console auto, sweet car, I paid $500.00 bucks,
then put all new front end under it , trans, brakes exhaust tires wheels
then rolled it, man was my mom impressed with me, found another 64 that
was a 4-speed car, but just put all my running gear in it and raised
hell with it after that, man, were those the good old days or what.
