I installed a new ignition switch today. I think it was probably OK but
the wires coming into it are a mess. There are splices and the
connections are frayed and almost falling out. I thought the dash was
pretty good until I really looked at it. Yuck, nasty. I installed a volt
meter too and tried my best to clean up some of the wiring. I did
install a direct feed to the ign module from the battery itself. It's on
a fused toggle switch and must be shut off to kill the engine even if
the key is off.
I gave it a run and it ran great the first time and began to backfire a
bit at 5000rpms the second time. I tried it a few more times and the
bottom end is very good but still a bit outta whack on the top.
I set up the 500cfm Eddy's with .086 Primary, .089 secondary, 7052
metering rods, yellow springs, #33 accelerator pump nozzles and the
accel pump rod at midway. My dyno guy recomended the sec jets.
Maybe I'll make it too Geezer days tomorrow after all. I can enter the
show if not the race. Dodger is gonna try to make it too.
