I just switched from Champion RJ12YC to NGK 3332. I've always had good luck with NGK's. Champions seem to foul a lot.
I remember a tip from Don Dulmage who suggested a shortie Champion plug typically used in small engines with the same heat range and reach. They worked good with headers as they were easier to get in and out. Down side was you had to trim your plug boots shorter. Sorry, can't remember the number.
