I think the old saying "bigger is better" holds true when it comes to brakes. Not sure if the finned brakes are really any better since the front brakes do most of the work. I guess if you live in a very warm climate you might want to go with finned drums.

I have a pair of backing plates and building everything new from there, putting drums. My question is... is there any major advantage to a physically heavier finned drum vs physically lighter non-finned drum? I would think the fans would be an advantage for cooling, but the non-finnef drum would be less weight on the wheels to get stopped. The other issue here is the heavier drums are twice the price of the lighter drums. Both had the same 2 year warranty. Any thoughts? This is not some kind of a rally car, it's a cruiser.
