For my '64 Polara, I've ordered a set of custom length 8 3/4 rear axles from Dr Diff for $300.-
I am interested in the opinions or past experience of others on this subject.
This winter I intend to freshen up the rear drum brakes on my '63 SF. If my memory is correct, the rear drums have already been parted off the hubs, so the hard work is done I think. The diff is a 742 with 3.23:1 gears and "Limited slip".
I would like at this point to swap in Flanged axles and get rid of the tapered axles. Do any of the aftermarket guys like Strange or Moser just make replacement axles?? I'd like to leave everything else as is.
Thanks in advance for the input!
