In past years I've bought the following whole cars from junkyards (those with a dealer certificate in Indiana can sell whole cars if they want to): 62 Belvedere 2 dr sedan, 318 poly and 727, drove it home, 1968, $150. Owned it until 2012. 70 Challenger RT/SE, non running, $250, sold it pretty quick for triple what I paid. 1985 or so. Got it back in a trade in 1993, got it on the road, and traded for 72 Cuda 340 I still own. Pair of 69 Barracuda fast backs and a 63 Belvedere 4 door from a yard in the next county in about 86. Paid $500 for the three of them. I made the deal sight unseen and found on arrival with my wrecker that one of the 69's was the car my mother bought new, then I owned, I sold to a brother when I was sent overseas in the army and he lost it in a financial deal and its whereabouts had been unknown. I parted out the other cars but our re-found 69 is now owned by my son. 75 Dodge ISP trooper car. $250, 1988. The 440 and 727 along with smaller stuff went into a 1970 Challenger RT I bought for $250 with a blown engine from a wrecker operators lot. Sold it for $1400 real proud of myself until the guy flipped it for $3500. I hadn't a clue that Mopars were suddenly in demand and skyrocketing in value. 1971 Barracuda SE from another wrecker lot. Paid $150 in 1989 and again misguidedly flipped for $300. Quick venture into Chevydom, from another wrecker I picked up a 72 or so Nova SS with a 350 and 4 speed for $75 and drove it home. Quick little car I found out at home it also had positrac. Flipped that one for 150. 85 caravan for $1100 with a smoking 2.6 (yep) for my girlfriend of that time, '94. Ran and drove and a head gasket fixed the smoke. Nice little car which I signed over to her when we split up in 96. > On Aug 5, 2016, at 10:09 AM, <62-65-mail-list-club@xxxxxxxxxxx> <62-65-mail-list-club@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > > Good points.
