You are right. They were specially coated lifters and could even be re-used. Of course I don't remember the name either. Maybe Rhoads? They were very pricey but sounded like a good deal.

I remember seeing a Lifter offered by a company that did not have to be used in the lifter bore it came from in an inspection or other reason.
Not sure if this makes sense. I believe the company began with an “S”. Maybe they went out of business.
