I may not recommend the base Pertronix conversion for high performance engines. The reason you don't see them on LA, Wedge ,and Hemis is that you must not be in touch with all the people that do use them and are quite satisfied. 64ragtop hits the nail squarely on the head in his post. I have had the base Pertronix in my Hemi for about 10 years and the only problem I had was with the coil bracket slipping and grounding the coil out. Being Pertronix had nothing to do with that........................................MO If the Pertronix was that good, how come we don’t see any on LA, wedge and Hemi engines? And you still have a 50 year old distributor and advance curves-both vacuum and centrifugal… Not trying to condemn-I’m always open for education don’t ya know?
