Today I received notice from The Magistrate that the defendant (painter) has defaulted by not following thru on required court procedings. I have been awarded the maximum $ allowed in small claims court. He can appeal by posting a $500 bond. I doubt he will do that. Now the problem is , getting the money from him. I am confident that will happen sooner or later, because now, I have the law behind me.--Lesson of the story--never hire someone to do work for you without stating in writing exactly the terms of the agreement.--EVEN IF IT IS A FRIEND OF YOURS ! ..............................................MO
