My original 63 MAX WEDGE Belvedere 2dr hdt Steel front end car had the battery mounted in the front
-- My original 64 MAX WEDGE Belvedere 2dr Steel front end car {Now owned by Rich Horner,} had the battery in the trunk. The only 63 cars I saw back then that had the battery in the trunk were light weights.I never saw a 63 steel front end car with the battery in the back in stock/super stock, and I did a lot of stock/super stock racing back then. That dose not mean that the factory did not ever do it, as they were known to do some odd combinations..!! Much appreciated. Nico Over For '63 the steel max wedge cars had the battery under the hood early. Beginning in mid-December, '62(remember that back then the model year started in September.) the steel cars had the battery in the trunk. All A/FX or lightweight cars had the battery in the trunk. -- Date: Tue, 2 Dec 2014 16:02:11 -0500 Subject: RE: Max Wedge Question From: hemial@xxxxxxxxxxx To: 1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Not correct, my 64 Polara 500 steel car has the battery in the trunk at no extra charge Happy Connecting. All steel cars had the battery mounted in the engine compartment. All steel cars for '63 & '64 could have the trunk mount battery package, but at extra cost. Nick Tiberio FuryUs63 Subject: Max Wedge Question Was watching the Mecum Auction, today (a rerun) but they has a supposedly true (1 of 28 remaining) Max Wedge 63 Plymouth savoy post. I am not an authority by no means on theses cars but the one at auction (didn't go any higher than 50K) had the battery in the normal driver's side inner fenderwell. I thought all Max Wedges had the battery in the trunk or was this only done on the 64 cars? Any info would be appreciated.
