I wouldn't be surprised if they were talking about a pinion snubber.

All I can see is a 361 powered car that was at one time drag raced, butchered, and painted Hemi Orange (!) in the 70s, or likely, the 80s.   Maybe they had a D60 from DC under it when they found it, but that would hardly be a rarity, as it was an over the counter (not literally, as you would surely strain something) part.
