Re: Cheap Mopars

Your correct, my 59 Coronet has a 326 poly.  As mentioned, Dodge also had a 325 Hemi / Poly.  The heads were interchangeable if you had both sets!

If you looked at the photos from before the auction,, there were many empty "spaces" where cars had been sitting .   Wonder what they were ?  The Lambrecht auction nearby had many "special" vehicles.  Had there been some low mile 62-65 B body hardtops and sedans,, some Dart GT's ect.  it might have been a different story.   I sure would have liked the 59 Dodge,,, or the 62 300 though.  BTW,,, where did the "325 Hemi" come from ?  My first driver when I was 16, ( my dad's work car) was a 59 Dodge.  326 Poly as I recall.

Thanks Dennis. Location matters. If these Mopars were on the east coast of the US, they would have probably sold for higher prices. But then, if they *were* on the east coast, they would have deteriorated into piles of iron oxide particles years ago. :)

BTW, http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=52088&posts=41&start=1 starting 5-12-14 shows more from the auction. A message by mopar56 posted on 2014-05-02 2:46 PM gives some nice historical background about the owner. Also noted there that at least one salvage company that was on site with a portable crusher. :(

Thanks,
Gary H.
