If you don't want to do the math, place a yardstick, or any straight piece of material, left to right holding it in the center of the torque converter. The big block Torqueflite starter outline will line up with the yardstick while the small block TorqueFlite will not. Look at the graphic Nick sent and you can visualize that image.
