You do see titles for sale at swap meets, eBay etc. Needed one for a '56 Chevy truck project back in the '80's - ran a wanted ad for scrap rig with clear title. Landed a $25 rolling frame with title. Just had the insurance estimator looking at the '62 Dart's damage yesterday, he most def took a picture of the VIN plate in the door jamb. They are paying me for the headlight door and stainless eyebrow piece I have hoarded in my parts stash. Guess it pays to hoard parts in more ways than one. They have agreed to the chrome shop I specified for the bumper straighten and re-chrome.
