RE: Inline 727 Tranny Filter

Looks not important, function is - asked that seller about those repro filters - they have been on the shelf at least 15 years themselves and are no longer made either.  Can't see using old stock when it comes to paper filters or other parts that age, like rubber parts.

Found that WIX mentioned on the 1962to1965 site.   Then discovered the Magnefine filter of the same design as the WIX.  (Magnefine is the original patent holder).

Plus the Magnefine comes in different line sizes where the WIX only 5/16, have to see if the Dart's lines are 5/16 or 3/8.  They even have a metal version that may fit the AN fitting lines.

I do know GM uses filter magnets under the spin-on filter on the Allison, so I have seen first hand what the magnets do collect......

Do you care about totally-stock-original appearance? If not, Wix filter 58964 can be used  as a substitute. Wix is a top-quality brand.
