My 64 Fury Convertible is currently having the engine rebuilt,
which required me to move it the old-fashioned way - pushing it. The right
rear wheel was locking up, so I took the wheel and drum off (brakes are pretty
new, and drum is solid), with minimal difficulty. Remind me - aren't
they of the "swaged" variety? I was able to get the hub off after
loosening the nut, and a couple good smacks of the drum with a hammer, although
I had it off a couple years ago (just can't remember when the "swaging" of rear
drums ended - obviously a fault of too many Mopars of a wide variety of
years).
I must admit that I forgot about the left-handed threads
on the left side wheel for a painful minute.
Now, I am going to remove and clean-up the left-rear also, but
shouldn't the left wheel turn (it is off of the ground) when I rotate the
right-rear hub with the drum off? What am I missing?
