RE: Welcome new member: 1964 Dodge Phoenix

In 60 & 61 the Phoenix was the top of the Dodge Dart trim line followed by the Dart Pioneer then the Dart Seneca.  The three trim lines were dropped in 62 and replaced with 330 & 440

I certainly recall seeing the Phoenix name back in the early 60’s. That was a trim level was it not? Like the Windsor was the entry level Chrysler.

Quite correct... every Dodge sold in Australia from 1960 was badged as a Phoenix... that included the '62 Dart (440?), the '63 and '64 Dodge 440s, the '65 to '72 or '73 Plymouth Furys. All were badged as Phoenixes, they didn't have much in the way of special equipment and in '64 there weren't many options available either.

From 1967 things changed, no longer could you only get a 4-door sedan, from then on you could get a pillarless 4-door as well, the pillarless models came with a 383.

All of these cars (save for two only of the 1960 model) had Torqueflite transmissions, '60 to '67 sedans had the 318 Poly V8, the sedans from '68 on had the 318LA.

Where are you located, David? I might well be able to steer you in the direction of parts you might need.
