Whether ebay has driven prices up or down is a matter of debate, but certainly the ability to market something worldwide is much easier now than it was even in 2003. You are correct on the market and finding the slant six buyer. The "Super Six" is an option for those determined to keep the original slanted engine and getting more pep. Swapping in a newer engine results in a different car with a different market -- and I would assume a owner with a different mindset He can still "ask" $500 but I agree, based on the revised timeline, somewhere around $250 is more likely to be the target for a buyer.
