We went to the Iola Old Car Show and Swap Meet in Iola, WI today. I have pics located here:
Most of my pics are of Mopars. The theme this year was Ford vs Chevy. Oh well. It was still a great show and the weather was really great. Last year it was in the high 90s. The show goes on throughout the weekend.
The highlight of the show for me was the green '62 Dart (page 4 of my album). It was a father and son who bought it from the second owner. It's all original, and the interior is incredibly pristine. The exterior is likewise immaculate - especially for a WI car. It must not have been driven in the salt much - if ever at all. The car has 25,000 miles, but looks like it only has 2500 miles. They bought it from the second owner after seeing it in a Craig's List ad. The sad part of the story is just a few days after the the seller pulled it out to put it up for sale, a tree fell on it. The passenger side quarter, roof, hood and fender all have damage. They have pounded out the dents as best as they can for now
and aren't sure where they're going with it next. I told them if it were me, I think I'd leave it as is. The grill had a hole in it from a branch that I never would have known about had the 15 year old boy not told me about it. He worked hard on fixing it himself and did a great job. He was a really nice young man who is going to carry on the Mopar torch in fine fasion, I would say.
