Re: Cam questions - Vote now

Go with the bigger cam. Even though you are not racing it, I think you'll be disappointed when you push down the loud pedal and not much happens compared to how it used to run. A friend of mine has a thinly veiled race car that he runs on the street...cruises with it but can have fun occasionally at the same time.

The difference in cam specs aren't that much...go for the bigger one...you'll be disappointed otherwise.

Rich,

Do Not use the stock cam, you are no longer using the stock 2V carb. I know the intake set-ups you are planning, I know the head work that has been done, I know the exhaust so think of the total package. We talk about mpg's for our daily driver, LeRoar is not your typical cruiser nor your daily driver. If you want mpg's put an overdrive unit in for those long cruises and while you're doing that install a trailer hitch for your camper too. Use the performance cam, you know you will eventually, that engine must have velcro fasteners instead of nuts & bolts holding it together. This is my vote, not my opinion, don't make me come over there.

I think I am leaning towards the stock cam so that I can maximize the mpg's. How about a vote from you guys ????

Rich,

The stock Hyd. Poly Cam is 240/.405” (180/184@.050”) 110LC and the
HP Poly Cam is                    256/.440” (206@.050”) 110LC

The “stock” HYD. Poly cam will purr.
The 256 HYD Cam will have a very slight uneven idle.

Let me know what your polling results are.

Can you e-mail me the specs for the OEM stock hyd poly cam and the 256 hyd.?  I want to think about this and do some asking.

Thanks,  Rich
