The studs are accessed from the engine bay. Make sure you plug the coolant inlet and outlet from the engine bay side. Take a picture of the temp control cable setup and how the motor connections are made. If it is like my 65 disconnect the vents at the heater, pull it out to get the inlet and outlet through the firewall (tight gaskets make this a little hard) and roll the heater out. It is a bit harder that I described but no more than a couple of hours.
Cool thanks! I knew you would know.

Not sure how to take it out, my service manual is a copy and the pic is too dark. It looks like this one is removed from the engine bay side?

I'm guessing it's time for a heater core? I looked quite a few places but can't find one. Does anyone know where I can get one? Maybe I have to rebuilt it like a radiator? Or, size one up from a more modern car? Many thanks in advance!
