Well, if the unit is still functional, you can spin one
axle and note what the other one does. If the other rotates the same way (ie:
both axles forward), then its a SureGrip. If one goes forward and one goes
backward, its an open diff.

There is a tag from the factory, but they are
usually lost at the first disassembly.

housing that would designate a sure grip differential? I have two 1966 Dodge
