I don't know the best way but a fellow I knew used strong magnets. He attached the magnets to the sign with heavy duty adhesive and covered the magnets up with a thin tissue to prevent scratching any paint. Kind of depends how heavy and big the sign that you have is as to the strategy, I suppose.
