Re: Buy New or Re-Face Solid Lifters?

I would think how much time and effort it would take to have to replace one or more that failed.  I've done all kinds of things that I had to do, due to budget.  But if the difference is only $80, that's the coffee budget for 1 month...not that big of a deal.  I could probably earn that much just recycling soda cans, or just driving a little less for a couple of weeks to save it up in gas money.  I'd go for new.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but a solid lifter, is a solid lifter, Magaflux for cracks. If none, good to go?

One way to look at it is that a used part is a proven part! I am quite sure I wouldn't reuse any lifter once your into the engine....just saying ... Russell
