Steering column inquiry for you guys....

I was wondering if any of you have any advice for me.  I have a 65 belvedere that I bought without the poly motor and cable shift 727.  I am transplanting a later model, linkage shifted 727 and a 440 into the car.  So obviously I cannot use the steering column in the car which is a column shift auto column.  I have heard that a 66 column shift column bolts in.  I have access to buying a 66 column but unfortunately it is a power steering column and my car has manual steering.(and I like it that way).  So, I was wondering if I could use the 65 cable shift steering shaft in the 66 column.  Has anyone tried this?  Or, does anyone have a 66 manual steering, column shift column? Thanks in advance for any info guys!!  Cory
