The price of a new(rebuilt) alternator is probably less than the cost of
the shop diagnoses of the problem, and yes there are several different amp
models that will be a direct bolt on, do no get carried away unless you
know if the charging system has been updated to handle it,,,,

Their diagnosis was a failing alternator.
