There are to many variables to have a simple answer. Is your engine stock, single or duel exhaust, headers, header pipe diameter, cam, ring and pinion ratio, and so on. The quick answer is if it is stock get the duel plenum intake with a small 4bbl, because you will lose more that you will gain going with a high flow single plenum unit and a large carb like so many who want to impress tend to do. Exhaust falls under the same criteria with a stock engine, two inch pipe will serve you far better than three inch.
Now if you have a high revving, high horsepower, stroker engine under the hood you will probably need the open plenum intake with a large carb, big tube headers and three inch exhaust.
Presuming a stock engine, your on the right track with the duel plane intake, just stay conservative picking a carb and exhaust. Improvement over a stock intake? More likely than not, yes! The stock intakes were designed for low end reliability and runability, where as after market intakes address the mid to high end also. Sorry I got long winded.
