Re: Bogus Polara

Car dealers are so much fun.  We are in the market for a new car ourselves.  We went to the Dodge dealer to look at a 2010 Charger.  It was a clean car fax, and a certified Dodge with the extra long warranty.  I asked before I drove the 1 hour to get to this dealer if the car had ever been in an accident, I was told no, the car was perfect and only had 17k on the clock.  The car looked good, but drove a little funny.  When I popped the hood I expected to find the proof of the accident.  There was some evidence, miss aliened hood, fenders, bumper cover...but not too bad.  Then I opened the trunk, looked at the floor, found it had been crushed, and not repaired, just hammered out.  Then I went and followed the damage to the drivers side, the whole side had been smashed in about 2 feet, hammered out, BONDED a lot, and painted.  Upon closed inspection of the nose of the car I found the bent frame still bent on the passenger side.  The car should have been totaled.  I ask the guy again if it had ever been in an accident, the again told me no, so I made him look at it, and asked him if that was the way Chrysler built them.  I then asked him how this car could have passed any kind of inspection with a crush tire well, crushed bumper under the cover, crushed and badly repaired quarter panel and crushed frame in the front.  He said it still passes inspection and then had the nerve to ask if we still wanted it.  We just gave him a dirty look and left.  Thank you so much Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge of Bellevue.  I've never trusted car dealers, buying old cars or new, never take them at their word.

We are going to wait till December and get a new Dodge Charger.  I'm hoping a new one at that time will be a good buy.
