--I'm running a rebuilt 1971 440 with a 491 /274 comp cam kit.Frank Lupo's shop suggested that i go with a 2600/2800 stall speed and 323.1 gears.Presently I'm using on my rebuilt trans a custom made "10/2,500 stall from Hughes Converter' along with a 276.1 sure grip.On the highway at 2600 RPM's the 440 stays super smooth at a steady 80 mph,,an it keeps asking for more gas. When in Town i must push it in first gear a ways in, order to feel the power and hear its aggressively loud sound. Next year i will try and setup an extra sure grip that i have with 355.1 gears,,and see how the Coronet runs, hopefully from light to light much better.
